Houjicha tea is a green tea roasted like coffee at a very high temperature produced in Japan.
Which explains why when you taste a Hojicha tea, you immediately notice this little toasted taste, with sometimes notes of caramel and vanilla. However, this tea is very low in caffeine and tannins, so it can be suitable for children, fragile stomachs and the elderly. This roasted green tea can thus be consumed in the evening.
You must infuse this tea for 30 seconds to 1 minute maximum to fully enjoy it. Once infused, this one keeps longer than other green teas and can very well be left in a bottle of water in the fridge for a few hours or overnight, to then enjoy a truly refreshing drink.
